The explorer had found the secret door that led inside the forgotten crypt.  He followed the passage into the bowels of the tomb where he discovered a sarcophagus and a sealed box covered in hieroglyphs.  Inside the box was a scroll!  He sat up his table and chair, took off his hat, and sat his lantern on the table so he could read.  He couldn't make it all out, but there was some kind of warning: "Whoever disturbs the sleep of the Mighty Imhotep will suffer a slow and painful death."  Wait!  What was that creaking noise? And now a shuffling sound?

THE FIGURES
I started with "The Mummy" figure from Sideshow Toys and added one of their other male figures.  The explorer's outfit is from a 21st Century Ultimate Soldier.

THE BACKGROUND
I made the wall background by selecting several Egyptian prints and gluing them onto a cardboard form.  I scratch-built the wooden box, table and campstool from balsa wood.  The Mummy's sarcophagus, the Isis box, and the Anubis box were purchased.  The scroll and scroll box came with The Mummy, and the canteen and lantern came from other Sideshow figures.

UPDATE:  I was asked to add some pictures of the "aftermath" of the Mummy's attack showing his exit, and some of the diorama background with nothing in front, so here they are.
